
I consider this Asana the best one in my personal experience. The reason that it is a simple one and you get the complete benefits of it from the very beginning. I always suggest the people to start with this one because it gives your body a natural warmth to start with. I will discuss its benefits on this page at the end. First of all lets see how we will do it.

1. Start with resting on your belly hands by the side of you palms facing upwards and your face on one side. Your feet at a normal distance of six inches apart.
2. Put your forehead on the floor and stay in this position for few (3-5) seconds. Breath normally.
3. Pick Up your face and put your chin on the floor as if your neck is in full stretch and try to look in front for few seconds again(3-5). Still breath normally.
4. Now pick up your chin and lift your upper chest and still breath normally and contuinue into the next position.
5. Fold your arms and bring your hand forward to rest them on the floor on your palms by your chest. In this position try to look as upwards as possible. Still breath normally and stay in this position for 3-5 seconds.
6. Now Breath In and lift your upper body upwards looking upwards stretching your back as much you can. Remember your lower abdominal region and groin area is touching the floor. Hold your breath in and stay in this position as long as you can. But initially stay in this position for 10-15 seconds and increase it up to 30 to 45 seconds if you can. Now when you cant hold your breath any more slowly come down to position three releasing your breath. Then come back in position one and rest for 10-20 seconds.
Repeat this asana again step by step and enjoy the celestial benefits of Cobra. This Asana should be repeated three times in the beginning month. Then you can so it for three-five times.
Benefits: This Asana and bow has almost the same benefits. But the good thing in this Asana is that it is that this asana improves the mans sexual power. It really helps the males suffering from impotence and other such disorders. It increases the flexibility of the spine in a normal way which is thought to be very useful in keeping you young. This Asana is also good to keep away laziness of mind and body, thus keeping you active.
Problems In Practicing: It Is easy to do position for the beginners. But dont you think it is an easy play. The people who do not exercise regularly or who have never practiced yoga in their life it will be a difficult pose. Do not give jolts or push to complete the asana first day. Take your time and be patient to complete it. First you might only do upto no 5, but automatically your endurance to stay in the posture will increase and you will go to the complete posture with time. As soon as you feel the discomfort or pain stop there. If pain persists do not do this untill you talk to your Doctor or you had a complete releif. Remember your flexibility is a matter of time not the extra stretch to hurt yourself.
Caution: Heart patients should not do this Asana. Remember the same golden rule "Consult your doctor before you start any exercise"
