Vajar asana

 

1. Sit in the posture bending your knees on the souls of your feet. Your toe nails must be touching the floor. Backbone in straight upright position, but in a relax manner. Your hands must be resting on your thighs. Breath normally and sit in this position as long and you can. Make a habit of sitting like this. Slowly your flexibility will increase and you will not feel discomfort in sitting like this and you will be able to sit in vajar asana as long as you wish to.

 

 

2. This is position of your feet while sitting in Vajar Asana.

Benefits: This is a very basic Asana. But it is a very important one. Being very simple it is easy to do and it can be done at any time and you can even practice it after your meal. If you sit in this posture after your meals, this really helps to digest your meals properly. Actually i have tried it myself very much and found it really useful in the problem of indigestion and hyperacidity(heartburn due to hyperactivity of pancreas). I suppose the main goodness in this posture is due to the fact the our elementary canal which starts from mouth to rectum becomes in a very comfortable and straight position which really helps.

Secondly this position stretches the joints from toe nails to spine. which naturally helps to create flexibility in the body, the main source of young life.
